Phyllis Gordan studied Latin at Bryn Mawr; Renaissance scholar with particular interest in Poggio Bracciolini; in 1938 met and married John Gordan. In 1951, approximately one thousand incunabula were donated to Bryn Mawr. In the following years, another approx. 300 incunabula were donated by Phyllis Gordan to Bryn Mawr library.
