Binding noteDark brown calf leather on wooden boards, ca. first quarter of the sixteenth century. Rebacked spine with six raised bands. Extensive blind tooling on both boards. Double quadruple fillet lines with diamonds. Individual tools, mostly with a floral motif. A distinct tool in the four corners representing a face was used by the St. Paulusabdij (see: Hulshof & Schretlen). Of copper clasps only minor fragments remain on both boards. The titles of both copies are written along the fore-edge.

NoteVolume was transfered as part of the larger 'Maastricht collection', a large number of books retrieved from former religious institutions in the Southern Netherlands and Dutch Limburg and Noord-Brabant. A selection was made and several dozen were sent to the University Library in Groningen during the 1840s.

Two print/mss labels on the spine, one bearing the historic shelfmark 'cf--34', and the other the mark 'Inc 21'. Both labels are also paste on the front pastedown. The shelfmark is also written on the front pastedown.
A print label is present on fol. [a1] recto, bearing the text 'Ex dono Ministerii regii'.
