bindingNote15th c. Gothic full leather binding. Blind stamped brown tanned skin. Scared on both front and rear cover, wooden board exposed in several places and at the corners. Spine damaged at the top and the leather covering it is completely detached in the lower part. With two labels: one containing the title (partially preserved) and another one with the shelfmark “22. B. 6”. Six flowers enclosed in rhombuses placed at the top. Title above in large Gothic characters: “Epistole enee”. Flowers on the right and left and other motifs inside the central panel. Back cover: flower frame with ten eagle stamps. Two brass catch-plates with roses. No straps.

decorationNotef. 2r: Lettrine “I” of “Iolianus cardinalis” (18 lines). Ornamental letter in blue with tendrils in grey with a white outline and other white elements in between. Placed on a gold background with three flowers stamped in on each part of the letter. Enclosed in a frame alternating green, red with yellow and grey with white segments with yellow at joints. Two shoots sprout from the corners of the frame and extend up and down the page. Coloured in blue and red, green at the extremities and circular elements filled with gold.
Red and blue lombards are used throughout (3 lines).

The last lines continue on the rear pastedown. The text is not an exact rendition of the original passage, some words are changed.
