Decoration Notef. a1r: historiated major initial “Q” of “Quia catholice” (9 lines) decorated with green foliage on a gold background. St. Thomas placed inside the initial holding a church coloured in red. Brown cloak and white robe. The tongue of “Q” extends down the page, stylised with vegetation and golden circular elements. Throughout alternating red and blue lombards (3-5 lines).
Simple lombards are decorated by the reader with more intricate pen flourished designs, e.g. “D” of “Deinde” on f. t3r: initially a 5 lines blue Lombard received a frame combining brown and faded red ink, ornamental motifs following the same colour scheme surround the letter. Stylised vegetation infill in brown. Flourishes in red extend from the initial in the narrow space between columns. Other similar examples can be found on f. t4r (only red); f. t7v (brown and red); f. 1r (red only); f. x1r.
