NoteLast leaf, blank, lacking; several leaves damaged, affecting text, in gatherings e and f (repaired and text provided by hand). Large initial on leaf a2r painted in red and blue; other initials in red and a few in blue throughout the book; some red initials have been retouched with paint in a darker shade of red. Numerous early finding notes in brown and red inks with additions of corrections and of punctuation in some of the sermons; a few of the corrections use a cross as a signe-de-renvoi; also numerous "nota" and other markings; numbers included in the text of some of the sermons are rubricated and repeated in the margins in red ink; damaged leaves in gatherings e and f have been repaired and lacking text added by hand in same handwriting and same ink as the notes and corrections; a longer note on leaf z2r with quotes (in a different hand); guide letters have been added by hand in capital spaces; manuscript numbering on leaves a2-M7, reading 1-250, is referred to in table of sermons on leaf a1v; markings in black pencil in a few gatherings; manuscript note about the author added to the title on title page. Inscription on title page "pp. Celestinoru[m] p[ro]pe Medunta" repeated with variant on leaf a2r inside of rubricated initial; another note below colophon reading: "Celestino[rum] de medũta. Sic sign[a]tus 346"; a pencilled note on front free endpaper starting "I.A. Feby 17th 1839" relates the finding of the book in London and explains the destruction of the original binding by dampness. Nineteenth century vellum binding; early repairs of leaves include (contemporary?) manuscript fragments in Latin, one of them on leaf f6 bearing name "F. Iacób[us] auparo[n]des[?]"; also a few fragments bearing printed signatures; repaired.
