NoteEarly manuscript notes in margins of the text and some underlining; concordance to the 1490 and the 1491 eds. of the "Epistolae" on front fly leaf in Michael Wodhull's handwriting; several mentions of prices. Early inscription: "De montoya" on top of leaf a1v; another early mark of ownership on leaf &3r, crossed out, illegible; autograph of Michael Wodhull with date "Mar: 10th 1780" on front fly leaf and his date "June 9th 1800" at end of the book (no. 97 in the Sotheby sale catalog of his library, Jan. 1886); also his provenance note on front fly leaf: "Leigh's auct: libr: Morin D'Herouville" (no. 372 in the Sotheby sale catalog of his library, March 1780). Bookplate of W.T. Smedley. Purchased in 1924. 18th century Russia leather binding with the arms of Michael Wodhull gold tooled on front cover, by Mrs. Weir. Cf.
