noteIt is unclear whether this binding was commissioned by Mr Reiners or if he accquired it in this condition, though it is likely from around the same time.
It is also unclear wether the photocopies of the missing pages were inserted at this time. According to a stamp on the first photocopy page, they were copied from the specimen held by the library of the Kupferstichkabinett in Berlin, that previously belonged to Karl Ferdinand Friederich von Nagler (another stamp, "v.N.").
bindingNoteHalf leather binding, boards covered in a paper reproduction of a manuscript leaf. On the leather spine: blind-tooled title and fake raised bands. The binding appears to be imitating historical fashion.
