Binding noteBright orange morocco over millboard, described as "citron"-coloured in the sales catalogues.
Stamped in gilt at the bottom of the upper turn-in: "BOUND BY RIVIERE & SON". Boards plain, edges with a thin double gilt fillet decoration, gilt roll on turn-ins. Plain paper pastedowns. All edges gilt.
An earlier Italian temporary pasteboard binding is preserved: the boards are bound in at the end of the text, attached by thin fabric strips.
