bindingNoteEarly 16th-century blind-tooled goatskin over wooden boards, identified as the work of the Rosettenmeister (possibly Benedetto detto Padoano). Boards decorated with rolls and and fillets in a panel design, with six knotwork fleurons lined up in the centre (see digitised image in the Scott Husby database, linked below). Spine decorated in blind, too worn to discern type of decoration. Thong supports, primary endbands (Husby). No pastedowns. Furniture: on lower board, four trapezium-shaped metal catchplates; on upper board, remains of four leather straps, each attached to the board by 3 star-shaped metal nails.
