Copy Features - NoteManuscript leaf used as part of a bookmark: white string attached to the upper endband, with a fragment of a late medieval religious [?] manuscript in Latin on parchment, folded and cut out in the shape of the Christian fish symbol, attached to the string.

Early MS. signatures: c1r signature missing, supplied; h1-4 printed "b", corrected; i3 printed "3i", corrected.

NoteLate 15th/early 16th [?]-century MS. inscription on lower margin of a1r and upper margin of [o]12v: "Iste liber competit loco Sancte Marie Incoronate apud Martinengum". Also, paper fragment on upper pastedown includes the words "A martiningo" in MS in an early hand.
Binding noteOriginal wooden boards. On lower board, remains of a rectangular paper slip, possibly formerly containing the shelfmark. One metal clasp with remains of a leather strap on the upper board, and evidence of further furniture on both boards. Some red specks on both boards, possibly remains of previous binding. Writing in black ink in a gothic script along the centre of the upper board, partly obscured by modern leather backing, illegible.
Plain paper pastedown on upper board. On lower board, bifolium from a folio printing of Terence's Comedies in Latin (the beginning of "Adelphoe") used as pastedown, with some contemporary MS. notes in Latin.
Lower board split, repaired with glue and wavy metal elements embedded in the wood. Rebacked in 20th century with brown calf tooled in black, titling reading up spine and imprint year at foot.
