Binding noteUnsigned bibliophile binding. Brown Russia calf. Boards decorated in gilt and blind in a frame design with cornerpieces. Board edges and turn-ins decorated in gilt. Spine decorated in gilt and blind, with title across spine in gilt: "S. CATERINA | EPISTOLE | DEVOTISSIME", below "ALDO", and, at foot of spine "VENEZIA | 1500". Embossed light blue paper pastedowns. Orange-dyed edges from a previous binding preserved. Formerly stored in a marbled board slipcase (see online catalogue).
