Binding noteContemporary full blind-tooled calf, without pastedowns, revealing supports laced into the boards (rebacked, with repairs to the leather on the covers, and with later gilt-stamped red leather title labels on spine); indications of two clasps on front cover; quire guards cut from a parchment ms. (identified by Michael Laird as 13th-century, 4 columns per page, small gothic bookhand, rubricated in red and blue; perhaps English?). Two tools identified by Laird as those reproduced by Gibson, Early Oxford bindings, Plate XXXIII, tools 3 and 17. Some modern conservation work documented on an inserted leaf, inserting new free endleaves.
