Binding noteEarly 16th century English binding of leather over wooden boards. Probably Cambridge or London rather than Oxford. Tooled in blind with diaper pattern and border rolls. Typical pineapple tool in the centre of each lozenge. Remains of clasps. Two strips from a 15th century manuscript, originally used as sewing guards, have been removed from the binding and are kept in plastic wallet with the volume. 17th century fore-edge number. 18th century morocco lettering pieces.
