Decoration NoteThe title page b2r is illuminated in Northern Italian style, with the top and right borders and the bas de page decorated with pen traceries of small red and blue chunky flowers, with small green leaves and golden dots. The sides of each border are traced in gold leaf. The right and left margins also have borders of green leaves, drawn in pen and water-coloured.
The first initial 'N' is in gold leaf on a green and red background sprinkled with triads of tiny white lead dots, divided diagonally from left to right, with two bianchi girari decorations in the inner angles of the letter.
Four more illuminated initials in gold leaf are to be found at the beginning of each book, always on a coloured background sprinkled with triads of white lead dots (red background for books II and III, green background for books IV and V).
The roman number referring to the book is written in red ink on the top margin of each page; the same hand marked the writing mask on each page with red lines.
