msNoteFront endleaf recto, containing various Latin sayings: 'Perfer et obdura / Cealop: Petitius me Possid(et) [crossed out] / N N N / 1596 non(us) aug(ustus) / felix qui fecit, unde metat quod expectebat / Argentu quidem et pecunia est com(mu)nis omniu(m) homiu(m) possessio: at honestu(m) et ex eo lans, et gloria Deoru(m) est aut coru(m) qui à Dys proximi censentui. / Poli(bius). / Aliena vitia in oculis / habemus à tergo nostra sunt'. The first sentence is a quote from Ovid's Ars Amatoria (Ars. Am. 2. 177).
His autograph also appears twice on f. 1 recto. On the same page is again the saying 'Perfer et obdura', although here damaged by water. It is followed here by a quotation from Horace, unfotunately hardly legible due to the water damage.
