Documentary Evidence
NotePhillipps bought this book from the Jesuits of Fribourg in January 1823 through the bookseller Jean A. Lamy (see Oxford, Bodleian Library, MSS Phillipps-Robinson, c. 413, fols 11r and 16r for Lamy's bills). He recorded the purchase in a list headed ‘Empti de Collegio Jesuitarum apud Friburgi in Helvetia (vide priores)’ as ‘Breviarium Constantinense’ (see Oxford, Bodleian Library, MSS Phillipps-Robinson, f. 72, fol. 8v).
