NoteGift of William Waldorf Astor in 1972. Sold as a duplicate in the 26 April 1910 Anderson Galleries New York auction that included "a few choice duplicates from the New York Public Library", though the bulk of the sale was part 1 of the Americana collection of Wilberforce Eames. This copy was lot 136, described in the catalogue as "the Astor copy, which is sold as a duplicate", followed by an account of its earlier provenance. The lot number is in ink on the front pastedown of the folder enclosing the disbound copy; "L - N - 5" on the same pastedown may be the Astor shelfmark.
