The printer has been identified as Clas Wencker or Conrad Wolfach tentatively by E. Voulliéme, Die deutschen Drucker des 15. Jahrhunderts, 2nd edn, Berlin, 1922, p. 148, and F. Geldner. Die deutschen Inkunabeldrucker: Ein Handbuch der deutschen Buchdruckerdes XV. Jahrhunderts nach Druckorten, 2 vols, Stuttgart, 1968-70, I, p. 64, although this attribution has been questioned in P. Needham, "Four Strasbourg Incunables incorrectly assigned to Anton Koberger of Nuremberg", British Library Journal, 6 (1980), 130-43 (p. 142 n. 18)

Inscribed 'Abbatiae s[anc]ti Martini Laudunensis' on leaf [a1] recto, i.e. the Premonstratensian Abbey of St. Martin, Laon, France. Marked '13 V. RRRye#' ['13' crossed away and substituted with '22'] in brown ink in upper left corner of verso of first upper free endpaper, and 'Nes #' in brown ink on upper right corner of second free lower paper, France [?], 18th century; '122', 'N° 129' and priced 'id/', '4/10/-' and 'dv' in pencil on same leaf. William Henry Black, London, antiquary, his signature dated 17 December 1856 on verso of first upper free endpaper. Bought of the Cambridge booksellers Macmillan & Bowes on 8 February 1875.
Binding noteGilt-tooled red morocco over pasteboards, with marbled paper pastedowns and conjoint free endpapers, attributed to Derome by a manuscript note in pencil on verso of second upper free endpaper, France, Paris [?], late 18th century.
Decoration NotePuzzle initial in red and blue on leaf [b1] recto; initials, some with reserved decoration, in alternating red and blue throughout; paragraph marks in alternating red and blue in tables of contents, otherwise in red throughout; highlighting of printed capitals and underlining of captions in red; all supplied by hand, France, late 15th century.
