NoteBought April 1951 from the Internationaal Antiquariaat, Keizersgracht 610, Amsterdam (their catalogue 161, no. 5), using money from the Wilson-Barkworth Fund. Wormholes in the later leaves suggest this item was formerly bound before Oates 3517.5 (Calpurnius Siculus, Titus. Bucolica. Deventer : [Richardus Pafraet, 1488, before 4 Sept.]), a similarly annotated and rubricated tract bearing the bookplate of the abbé Jeanty and the signature of Jasperus Sirck. Annotations: Extensive notes, marginalia and interlinear annotations in two contemporary hands, one probably Sirck's, throughout. Decoration: Initials, capital strokes and paragraph marks supplied in red (probably by Sirck) to the printed text and most of the marginal annotations.
Binding noteQuarter morocco by the University Library, 1951.
