Printing date from colophon in capitals on leaf p6 verso, which reads: ) (FINIS.) ( M.CCCC.LXXX.
Printing assigned to Johannes Rubeus at Treviso in Proctor 6494, BM 15th cent., VI, p. l, and Marie Pellechet and M. L. Polain, Catalogue général ... (MS of unpublished volumes, reproduced from the original now in the Bibliothèque Nationale, 23 vols, Nendeln, 1970), MS. 10805. See BM 15th cent., VI, p. l: "Johannes Rubeus was 'either identical or closely allied with the Printer of the 1480 Valla".
The misplacement and cancellation of text on leaves b7 and b8 arised from disruption in the copy-text, i.e. Bologna: Printer of the Suetonius (H 15113), 1477 (ISTC is00819000): see Oates 2224, Sheppard 4856, BM15th cent., XII, 21, and Bod-inc S-341.
Spaces left blank for initials, mostly with printed guide letters. Space for Greek text in and after gathering g.
Signatures: a¹⁰ b-g⁸ h⁶; i⁸ k⁶ l⁸ m-p⁶. First leaf a1 blank.

Trace of bookplate pasted onto verso of upper board, 19th [?] century. Note in Italian relating to the disruption of text on leaf b6 verso, Italy, late 19th or early 20th century. Thomas Ashby Junior, archaeologist and director of the British School at Rome, his book label with crest and motto 'In unitate robur' on verso of upper board, inscribed in pencil 'Luzz[i ?] sale', '8-50', '(Brunet // once £ 2 / 2 / 0)', and 'Wants b7-b8' [faint]. Given by Alan Noel Latimer Munby, bibliographical historian, book collector, and Librarian of King's College Cambridge, on 22 November 1948, a label commemorating the donation and reading 'Bibliothecae Academicae Cantabrigiensi per quinque lustra ab Alvino Fabro Scholfield feliciter ordinatae hic liber donatus est xxij° die mensis nouembris A.S. MCMXLVIII' pasted onto verso of upper board.
Beschreibung des EinbandsBlind-tooled quarter brown morocco, leather secured by iron nails to beech-wood boards, bevelled along inside edges and sewn on three double-split whittawed spine bands, with small leather-core endbands with simple sewing, stub of red-stained alum-tawed strap for fastening clasp (missing) secured by two iron nails onto rectangular groove at fore-edge of upper board, and rhomboidal-shaped brass catch, with flower decoration at centre, at fore-edge of lower board, Italy, late 15th century. Trace of manuscript title on paper [?] label pasted onto upper board and manuscript author name 'Sueto. Tranqi.'
