NotaMS inscription (late 16th-early 17th century) at head of leaf a2r: Monasterii Ranshoven', i.e. Ranshofen am Inn, Upper Austria, Augustinian convent of S. Pancratius. MS inscriptions as catchwords in 16th century hand at foot of leaves c8v, d8v, e8v: these quires have been repaired at the gutter. A small number of underlinings and discreet annotations in the same hand. MS inscriptions in various hands on front paste-down endpaper: F, K3, St.2:15, 46, 20. Vellum label with two mostly erased inscriptions; Oates suggests Georg Türnczel de Konink. From the Acton library, its booklabel (dated 1903). Bought by Andrew Carnegie and given by him to Viscount John Morley, who presented it to Cambridge University in 1902.
Nota sulla legaturaContemporary blind stamped calf binding over wooden boards, rolls with a floral design forming a rectangle containing a thistle design. Author's name stamped at the head of the front board. Spine stamped with a circular design, a vellum label now worn away, top cord and threads visible. Sections of an early red and black printed breviary (texts include hymn commencing 'Anni reduxit circulus festum diem' and hymn for the Feast of the Transfiguration) used as guards on quires A and S. Decorated metal hasps ('Maira'[sic]) on upper board, leather straps (mostly missing) with hinge on lower board.
