Caption at incipit on leaf a2 recto reads as follows: Opus preclarum Supplementum chro/nicarum vulgo appellatu[m] : in omnimoda historia nouissime congesta fratris Jacobiphilippi Bergomensis religionis heremitarum diui Augustini decoris : q[uam] faustissime inchoat.
Imprints from colophon on leaf F8 verso, which reads in full: Impressum autem Venetijs per magistrum Bernardinu[m] riçium de Nouaria : anno a natiuitate d[omi]ni .M.cccc.lxxxxij. die decimoquinto Februarij : regnante inclyto duce Augustino barbadico.
Woodcut illustrations and initials throughout. Most of the illustrations and initials from Bernardinus Benalius's 1486 edition (ISTC ij00210000), including two half-page representations of the Expulsion from Paradise and Cain slaying Abel on leaves a3 verso and a4 verso respectively, and over 60 small woodcut city views, including repeats. The half-page cut of the Tower of Babel on leaf a6 verso and the city-views of Genoa, Rome, Verona, and Venice on leaves c3 verso, f8 recto, i6 verso, and t2 recto, are from his 1490 edition (ISTC ij00211000). Rizus also added woodcut borders on leaves a1 verso and a2 recto from cuts that had appeared earlier that same year in the Italian Legenda Aurea printed by Bonellis (ISTC ij00179000), and the frontispiece of Creation on leaf a1 verso and a small woodcut of Noah's ark on leaf a5 verso from the Bible in Italian printed by Malermi in 1490 (ISTC ib00644000)

NoteInscribed 'F[rat]ri gergio de athequa ordinis p[rae]dicator[um] [con]ventuj kalatayubi na[tio]nis [?] ispanie p[ro]uj[ncie] aragonje' on leaf ²B5 verso, Spain, late 15th century, identifiable with George de Athequa (d. 1545), later confessor and spiritual adviser of Queen Catherine of Aragon and Bishop of Llandaff (1517-1537), when still in the dominican convent of Calatayud near Zaragoza, Aragon, before following Queen Catherine to England in 1501. Part of Richard Holdsworth Bequest adjudged to Cambridge University in 1664. Armorial bookplate 'Academiæ Cantabrigiensis Liber' on upper pastedown. Old shelfmark 'L-3-35' in ink on upper pastedown and leaf a2 recto.
