UkCU,Inc.2.A.7.2[857]: Provenance: Inscribed 'Carthusiæ Gemnicensis' on leaf [a2] recto, identifiable with the Charterhouse in Gaming, its arms at centre of the upper cover, Austria, 16th century. Old shelfmarks 'IX. C. 7.' and '777 / fol.' inscribed in a circle, both in pencil, on upper pastedown. Marked '+ D.' in red crayon, and priced 'D.r. / .WF [6/10] 62' in pencil on same pastedown. Pencilled prices 'y/y', along the fore-edge and sloping upwards, and '£ 2.12.6', in the upper middle part of the leaf, are very similar in style to the code prices and retail prices used by the London bookseller William Ridler. John Couch Adams, Lowndean Professor of Astronomy, his bookplate on upper pastedown and shelfmark 'Adams 2.47.1' in ink on leaf [a2] recto. His bequest to Cambridge University Library in 1892.
