NoteInc.3.A.2.16[202.1-3]: Provenance: Manuscript titles 'J [i.e. primum] Ge[rsonniu]s'-'3[tium] Ge[rsonniu]s' [sic ?] at head of bookblock fore-edges, Germany, 16th century, Esslingen [?], Baden-Württemberg, part of a four-volume set with Johannes Gerson, Opera, Quarta pars, [Strassburg : Knobloch, 1514] (now Rel.a.51.10), whose binding is attributable to the workshop of the Dominican Cloister of Esslingen (founded in 1233 and dissolved about 1531). Shelfmarks 'R.V. / N. 65-67' in dark brown ink on tail compartments of volumes, Germany [?], 18th [?] century, provenance unidentified. Shelfmarks '5 . 9 . 23-25' in black ink, corrected as '71 [in pencil] . 9 . 23-25' on title pages, Germany, 19th [?] century. Acquired in the 19th [?] century: see armorial bookplate 'Academiæ Cantabrigiensis Liber' pasted at the beginning of volumes. UkCU,Inc.3.A.2.16[203.1]: Provenance: Inscribed 'N. Iüstingensis Vberlingus d.' over a coat-of-arms drawn in black ink on leaf A2 recto, late 15th or early 16th century, i.e. Nikolaus Justinger of Überlingen, doctor in canon law and rector at the university of Basel in 1509. Marked 'Invent 52 Bl. letztes leer / Vol. I 218 Bl. letztes leer', '243 / 2 Bde' and priced 'a/c/5', '9/11', '8/8' and '2 Vols' followed by '2/2/-' by a different hand, all in pencil on upper pastedown. John Couch Adams, Lowndean Professor of Astronomy, his bookplate on upper pastedown and shelfmark 'Adams.3.49.2' [corrected as 'Adams.3.49.3'] on leaf A1 recto; his bequest to Cambridge University Library in 1892. UkCU,Inc.3.A.2.16[203.2]: Provenance: Inscribed 'Langheim / a° 1644' on leaf A1 recto, i.e. the Cistercian Abbey of Langheim in Lichtenfels, Upper Franconia, Germany, 1644, with initials 'F[rater] S[tephan Mösinger]. A[bbas]. L[angheimensis]' added in manuscript to upper board, 18th century, i.e. Stephan Mösinger, abbot of Langheim from 1734 to 1751.
