Text on leaves [k1] verso and [k6] recto, left blank in the printing, also supplied in manuscript together with additional text from a later expanded version which required the insertion of an extra leaf (4to) between [k5] verso and [k6] recto.

Beschreibung des EinbandsOriginal blind-tooled brown leather over bevelled wooden boards, sewn over three double bands of alum-tawed skin, with brass bosses at the centre and corners of boards, one surviving of two original trilobe brass catches at fore-edge of lower board, metal nails securing stubs of fastening textile (silk?) straps at fore-edge of upper board, with title 'F de v' inscribed in ink on head and tail edges and 'Fior d[e] <vi>rtu<de> on spine, Italy, Venice ?, late 1470s or 1480s.
Manuscript waste: Fragment of a parchment manuscript of Johannes de Sacro Bosco, Tractatus de sphaera, Italy, second half of the 14th century, used as upper pastedown; lower pastedown from same manuscript, ruled but blank.
Fragment of a leaf from an hymnary, Italy, 15th century, used as upper and lower free endleaves.
