Decoration NoteOn a5r French three-quarter stem borders in black ink, with gold dotting, leaves, flowers, and two birds with [play] masks for heads outlined in black ink and coloured in blue, green, red, indigo, and yellow, incorporating a seven-line epigraphic initial ‘U' painted in blue with reserved white decoration, on a ground of gilt, the area within the body of the letter decorated in indigo with a white pen-work flower pattern. Principal initials are supplied in gold on a ground of red and/or blue. the area within the body of the letter coloured in indigo and/or blue with white pen-work. Elsewhere initials are supplied in red or blue or interlocked red and blue, with black or red pen-work decoration. Paragraph marks and headlines are also supplied in red or blue.
