NoteAnnotated Houghton Library copy of the Catalogue of the splendid, curious, and extensive library of the late Sir Mark Masterman Sykes (1824) identifies the buyer as "Payne" (perhaps bidding as Thorold's agent) and the price realized "16/5/6."
Pencil inscription on front flyleaf "Payne & Foss 1828." It is unclear how this date is to be reconciled with Thorold's inscription dated 1824.
