Binding noteLate 19th c. yellow morocco with inlaid blue borders, forming panels on back and sides richly gilt with classic borders and interlaced double five-line fillets. The bust of Athena in bronze in a field dotted with the monogram Α.Ι.Γ. (Ανθής και Ιωάννου Γενναδίου, Anthi and Joannes Gennadius) alternating with a rose. Dobloures: large frame with meander pattern enclosing a black watered silk lining embroidered in silver with an anthemion gilt, and papers, joints, gilt edges. Monogram Α.Ι.Γ. on spine. Bookplate Ιωάννου και Ανθής Γενναδίου with bust of Athena on back cover.
Note by Gennadius on verso of front flyleaf: 'Bound after my own designes by Morrell 10/15 for £ 8/10/-'.
