NotesThe vellum copies at Paris BN and Warsaw N have, as does the BL's Grenville copy, frontispieces illuminated by Giovan Pietro Birago. Fragments from the frontispiece of a fourth copy (perhaps the imperfect copy in the Vatican) are at Florence, Uffizi. The Paris copy belonged to Giangaleazzo Sforza, Duke of Milan, and the Warsaw copy probably to Galeazzo de Sanseverino, son-in-law of Lodovico il Moro. See T. Kren, ed., Renaissance Painting in Manuscripts: Treasures from the British Library (New York and London, 1983) no.14, and M.L. Evans in the British Library Journal 13 (1987), pp.232-247
