notesOn the assumption that the imperfect colophon date is that of printing 'the date 1480 has sometimes been supplied [e.g. by Gesamtakatlog]... But Girardengus is scarcely likely to have started with an unsigned book' (BMC)
Pellechet assigns the printing to Janon Carcains, Lyons, about 1495. Copinger assigns to Johannes de Colonia and Johannes Manthen in Venice in c. 1477. The 'B in circle' watermark found in the book is found in other books from the press of Girardengus.
