Brandolinus, Aurelius, Lippus:
Oratio pro S. Thoma Aquinate

ISTC No.ib01075900
AuthorBrandolinus, Aurelius, Lippus
TitleOratio pro S. Thoma Aquinate
Imprint[Rome : Eucharius Silber, after 7 Mar. 1498]
Imprint[about 1485-90]
Format
NotesEntered by GW under Aurelius Brandolinus, dating 1485-90; but BMC (reprint) mentions that according to Burchard's Diarium this sermon was delivered by 'Raphael Brandolinus caecus' on 7 March 1498. The text attributes the speech to Lippus Brandolinus, both brothers being known as lippus, i.e. caecus (DBI). CIBN further expands the argument stressing that this text, dedicated to Oliverius Carafa, should still be attributed to Aurelius and dated from the years when Carafa was archbishop of Naples, 1476-1484, 1503-1505. Aurelius is documented in Rome from 1480 to 1489 and during this time a sermon delivered by him was printed before 8 November 1489
